Odisha lose all in BC Roy Trophy Junior NFC

Odisha created big disappointment by losing all three of their Tier-I Group C matches in the Junior National Football Championship for B C Roy Trophy, which was held in Shillong, Meghalaya from 28 January to 6 February, 2020.

Led by Akash Dey, the 20-member Odisha team lost to Sports Authority of India 0-1, hosts Meghalaya 0-6 and Haryana 2-3. Mizoram emerged champions, defeating Punjab 5-4 in penalties, which were taken after play in regulation time ended 1-1 draw.

30 January (MFA Turf, Shillong): Meghalaya (Wadajied Kynsai Ryngkhlem 1’ 48’ 88’, Henryford Nongneng 69’, Gladdy Nelcen Kharbuli 81’, Ioanis Suchen 86’) beat Odisha 6-0. PoM: Wadajied Kynsai Ryngkhlem (Meghalaya).
1 February (J N Stadium, Shillong): Haryana (Dhiraj 17’, Vishal Sing 50’, Monu 89’) beat Odisha (Akash Dey 14’ 17’) 3-2. PoM: Nadeem (Haryana).
